Blurb: Sam Hawker’s fall off a bucking bronc at an event in Canada has left him both physically broken and financially broke and in a hospital with his leg in traction. Between worrying about how he’ll pay his medical bills and not being able to move, he’s going more than a little stir crazy.
Easy on the eyes, Pat Bouchard is the nurse assigned to Sam for his stay at the hospital, and the two men get to know each other as Pat cares for and entertains Sam. They grow even closer when Pat offers Sam a place to stay while he recovers.
What are they going to do when Sam’s all better and doesn’t have a reason to stay in Canada any longer?
Review: Poor Sam Hawker. I think you’ll find Sam to be a really nice guy…who worries constantly about getting better. Sam is a rough and tough rodeo cowboy, but all he’s riding at the moment is a hospital bed. With a broken leg, Sam’s hurting, restless and worried, and then he spies that cute little nurse, Pat.
Pat Bouchard is such a wonderful, nurturing character, and he likes the cowboy. Besides taking care of Sam at the hospital, Pat spends personal time with him. So when Sam becomes anxious and wants out of the hospital but has nowhere to go, Pat offers to take Sam in until he heals up and can get back on the rodeo circuit. Which then makes Sam worry about taking advantage of Pat.
Sam and Pat are really great guys, and this story takes us into their everyday lives: shows us how they meet, who they are, and their feelings for each other. A Cowboy Out of Texas is a sweet, heartwarming little story, well written and keeps you interested in its characters.
