Blurb: He might be hard to work for, but he’s impossible to resist.

Sasha Sobieski has the perfect job working at legendary American fashion house Harrison Kingsley—or at least he used to. He just never thought he’d have to work for Harrison Kingsley himself. Harrison is exacting, difficult, cold, and hands-down the sexiest man Sasha has ever seen.

After years at the top, Harrison Kingsley knows what he wants, when he wants it, and exactly how he’d like it to be delivered to him. What he wants most right now? His new assistant. Sasha is mouthy, opinionated, and he drives Harrison mad. Problem is, Harrison can never tell if it’s with anger… or desire.

Dividers

Review: I adore Sasha Sobieski of Hawk’s Prairie, Kansas. Like, a lot. I was rooting for Sasha the entire story. And, for Harrison for most of the story – the parts where I didn’t want to junk punch him that is. Back to Sasha, though… Smart, funny, spunky, driven, kind, I truly loved basically everything about him. Sasha has definite plans for his career, has studied hard, worked hard, and trained hard to land his job at Harrison Kingsley, working for the reclusive designer’s sister, Joanne Kingsley. He’s completely thrown for a loop, however, when he’s asked to work for Harrison at his home and studio in the Hamptons for the summer.

I was honestly torn in how I felt about the romance/relationship between Sasha and Harrison. One minute I was, “Will they or won’t they? Well – of course they will…But WHEN?!?” and the next minute I was fully on board, and swooning – though, I imagine that was completely the point. I did feel that Harrison was unnecessarily cruel on more than one occasion, especially in his last dickhead maneuver at the end of the book, and that Sasha should not have caved to Joanne’s pleading the second time either. But, I did love the resolution and where they ended up. Except the ending was VERY abrupt. Ok, now I’m nitpicking because I wanted more!! Bottom line…I liked these guys together. When they were clicking, and I could imagine them as a team of sorts, they were really great.

Another thing I really enjoyed about the book was the obvious amount of research that went into all of the settings and the fashion elements. If you are interested in that whole scene, or simply just find it fascinating, as I do, you’ll appreciate that aspect of the story as well. From Manhattan, to the Hamptons, to Milan and Lake Como, M.J. O’Shea has all the glam bases covered! Ahhhh…lifestyles of the rich and the famous. Such great escapism.

The Millionaire Upstairs is the first release in Dreampsinner’s new Dreamspun Desires line, and though I wasn’t quite sure how I would take to it, I have to say I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I love M.J.’s writing, so it wasn’t that I didn’t think she was a safe bet, I just didn’t know how much I’d love the tropey, more formula romance. In this case it was definitely well done.

Go grab this one, guys. If you’re in the mood for a fun, well-written, well-researched, office romance with just a bit of drama, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!
