We’re so pleased to welcome author J.R. Gray today, on the release day of his new novel Clouded Hell. Enjoy these five facts about Dante and Remi, and then have a look at the little tease he’s sharing from the book.

Dividers

CloudedHellFINALBlurb: I survive on avoidance. Physical pain to avoid the mental. Disposable flesh to avoid relationships. Work to avoid attachment.

My club became my empire of avoidance. Inside the ring millions are won and lost. The fight is confined to breaths, actions and reactions, fists and pain. Rules don’t exist. Only my opponent exists.

I’d been avoiding my needs for far too long when Remi stumbles into the Inferno and I’m hungry. The promise of a submissive with no attachment is far too tempting. I can’t resist him.

He was only supposed to be a distraction, but I know I’ll never get over him. There isn’t a chance in this clouded hell.

Dividers

  1. Remi is an artist. If he never had to worry about money or his father, he’d stick to tattooing full time.
  1. Dante never thought he was good enough to settle down with anyone.
  1. There are parts of Remi that wishes he could be everything his father wanted.
  1. Dante won’t ever admit it but he got spoiled by his past and isn’t as fully ‘redneck’ as he claims to be. He does like some of the finer things.
  1. Remi’s favorite color is yellow, which spawned this scene:

Excerpt: After we’d cleaned up, he took my hand, and I let him lead me up the back staircase and out into the parking lot. It was still early, but a light drizzle had set in, darkening the sky. A horrendous, blinding yellow Jeep sat in the parking lot, and I stopped when he walked in its direction. He stopped short, tugging at my hand. A glance over his shoulder at my horrified face had him pause.

“What?”

“I am not getting in that monstrosity.”

His lips twisted up at the corners. “Why not?”

“Nothing yellow is respectable.”

He burst out laughing and curled at the middle like he was having a fit.

“I fail to see anything funny.” I crossed my arms over my chest, and he kept going. Three minutes later he had tears in his eyes and was gasping for air. “Are you finished?”

“Maybe?” He broke out laughing again, and I threw up my hands. “Come back,” he said as I turned to walk toward my bike.

I paused, more annoyed with myself for letting him push my buttons than him for laughing. “Yes?”

“Get in the Jeep.”

I scoffed. “Good luck with that line.”

Dividers

JR GrayAbout J.R. Gray: When not staying up all night writing, J.R. Gray can be found at the gym where it’s half assumed he is a permanent resident to fulfill his self-inflicted masochism. A dominant and a pilot, Gray finds it hard to be in the passenger seat of any car. He frequently interrupts real life, including normal sleep patterns and conversations, to jot down notes or plot bunnies. Commas are the bane of his existence even though it’s been fully acknowledged they are necessary, they continue to baffle and bewilder. If Gray wasn’t writing…well, that’s not possible. The buildup of untold stories would haunt Gray into an early grave, insanity or both. The idea of haunting has always appealed to him. J.R. Gray is genderqueer and prefers he/him pronouns.
