Blurb: In early twentieth century England, a good valet can be damned hard to come by — at least, when one’s requirements are quite so specific as Lord Algernon Huffingham’s. Algy likes a man with a firm hand. Preferably work-calloused, and applied with vigour to Algy’s aristocratic buttocks. He’s beginning to despair of ever finding a man who can give him what he needs and still respect him in the morning.
Disgraced footman Robert likes a roll in the hay as much as the next man. Preferably with the next man. But he’s more accustomed to following orders than issuing them — and some of his lordship’s requirements are a bit more extreme than he’s used to! Robert may be easy on the eye and flexible in his morals, but will he be able to rise to Algy’s challenge?
Review: In her cleverly written and kinky short story Brass Rags, author JL Merrow takes the reader on a humorous little romp back in time to when lords and ladies did not mingle with the servants…unless, of course, you’re Lord Algernon Huffingham. Poor Algy was more of a man’s man than a lady’s man. Not only did he like sex with men, he liked it rough. In fact, the more humiliating and energetic the sex, the happier Algy was.
Unfortunately, Algy tends to use his valet for more than just dressing, and normally ends up paying dearly for the privilege. As the story opens, Algy has just packed off another valet and, as usual, will not pay to keep him quiet. On a visit to a friend’s estate, he finds just the man to replace him. The only problem is, will the man rebuff Algy once he learns of his employer’s kinky desires?
While clocking in at just over thirty pages, Brass Rags is a sweet little story about a young nobleman whose one desire is to find a companion who will fulfill all his submissive needs. Despite his looking in all the wrong places, when he finally does stumble upon the man who’s willing to be servant by day and Master by night, this delightful yarn comes full circle. Be forewarned, there are some very humiliating moments during their sex play, but they are done with such humor and tenderness that even those who have a distaste for golden showers will hopefully find the interchange palatable.
A full-length story featuring Algy would certainly be most entertaining. But for now, we will have to make do with just this short snippet delightfully written by JL Merrow.
