Blurb: Come to Rainbow Island, where all your sexual fantasies will come true.
In Three Wishes, James, Guard and Damien bring in three different couples for their special fantasy-granting services. Handsome model Benji is tired of being perfect, and he wants to make his body his own. Thor, tattoo artist and piercer, as well as Dom, is just the man to do it. Will Benji find what he’s looking for?
Meanwhile, Alan and Roman are a long-time sub/Dom couple looking to have a few outside Masters give Alan all the things that Roman can’t. Will their relationship survive Alan’s strong reaction to one of the Masters?
The last couple to visit the island are Quinn and Pierce. Quinn has medical fetishes he’s embarrassed to tell his lover Pierce about even though Pierce is a doctor. So he’s going to get it out of his system in this safe environment. At least that’s the plan…
Don’t miss out on these fantasies come true.
Reader Advisory: This book contains a scene of fisting and an enema administration and intimate medical examinations in a scene. There are also scenes of knifeplay and body modification and a reference to breathplay.
Publisher’s Note: This book has previously been released elsewhere. It has been revised and re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
Review: Sean Michel has a great understanding of pairings, how to write about two separate men, and understanding how they could be better together. These short scenarios are great examples of that, showing three different “couples” and how they come together and then the underlying trio that sets it all up.
This is classic Sean Michael. For someone who has been reading his work for quite some time, it was great to go back and remind myself why I like him as an author so much. Three Wishes and its sequel are actually two of the first books I read by this author years ago, and they made me a fan. This book follows the stories of the men who own a fantasy island and of the three special guests they have visiting at the time. If you grew up watching Fantasy Island, the TV show from the 70s and 80s, you will love this LGBT/BDSM twist on the idea. This is a story about Rainbow Island, owned and run by the trio James, Guard, and Damien. Rainbow Island is a safe place where all your sexual fantasies can come true—for a price.
James, Guard, and Damien are in a triad relationship that is horribly broken. We don’t get to know exactly what happened during a fantasy gone wrong, only that Damien engaged the fated scenario and brought the man who would hurt his lover to the island. It is a lasting guilt that Damien lives under, and to top it off, James, who is now in a wheelchair, has resisted physically rejoining his triad relationship, telling his two mates that they are better off without him. They all still love each other, and the hurt comes off the page, tangibly. The relationship between these three men probably has the shortest amount of words total in the whole book, but it resonates off the page and we have a very clear picture of what these men had, where they are now, as well as where they all three hope to be in the future.
Fantasy #1 is about Benji and how his perfect looks and his life as a model have left him feeling like he has no control over his body or his life. Thor is a tattoo artist, a piercer and Dom and he has been looking for someone, a boy he can call his, decorate inside and out and make him beautiful. To Thor, Benji is so much more than his outward appearance and teaching him to love himself by marking him and making him his is a dream come true. Benji needs people to see him, not the perfect boy in the print ads. Thor, in his dominance and his ownership of Benji, sets Benji free to be himself. This was my favorite of all the stories, as Benji is truly transformed with his fantasy into a confident person and comfortable for the first time in his own skin.
Fantasy #2 is about an established Dom/sub couple, Alan and Roman. Roman is well aware of his abilities as a Dom and knows his sub has some fantasies about hardcore playing that he cannot fulfill. He has set up this week on the island, five days with five different masters fulfilling his sub’s darkest imaginings, and his own voyeuristic bent. What neither man expects is that all the scenes do not go as planned and that they bring to the forefront issues Alan struggles to cope with on his own. This is an intense lifestyle relationship, and their time on the island becomes so much more when Alan learns to give over all his worries to Roman.
Fantasy #3 is lighthearted and I found myself smiling and laughing as the story progressed. Quinn’s boyfriend is a doctor. Pierce is young, driven, and only wants to make his temperamental boyfriend happy. Quinn has fantasies—deep disturbing medical fantasies—and he is scared to death that Pierce will find out and leave him. Quinn has come to the island to experience these fantasies and finally get them out of his system forever. What Quinn doesn’t suspect is that Pierce has been brought to the island to do some medical work for the island owners and that the two men are set up to make Quinn’s dreams come true. In the beginning it’s awkward, it’s believable and slightly comedic how the two men work toward their individual and collective wishes. Pierce embraces this new side to their relationship and the love the two men have grows stronger as Quinn’s needs are met now that Pierce has an idea of what turns his boyfriend on.
The second book in the series has three more fantasy scenarios as well as answering lots of questions about the triad relationship of James, Guard, and Damien. Three Wishes is a fast read and is well paced, the differing vignettes interesting. Read this one, read the second one…. They are both recommended.
