We’re so pleased to welcome author Saloni Quinby to TNA today to introduce her latest release, Knock on Wood.
Welcome, Saloni!
Saying the Wrong Thing
I’ve heard some people say that the heroes in romance novels aren’t realistic because they always say the right thing. That might be true at times. After all, a romance novel is a fantasy. At other times, however, part of the charm of a romance novel is the bickering between characters because it reflects how people interact in real life. Sometimes people inadvertently offend or annoy each other. It happens with the best of friends or the most devoted lovers.
In Knock on Wood, the heroes Earl Eli and John are physically attracted to each other from the first, but they don’t like each other. Earl Eli thinks John is a snob. John thinks Earl Eli is an clod. Eventually, the men dig beneath the surface and look past their first impressions to find that they’re more alike than they thought.
In this story, having characters say the wrong thing was the right thing to do.
What do you think about romance heroes always saying the right thing? Is it part of the fantasy or do misunderstandings actually help the characters dig deeper and expand the romance?

Blurb: On a dare from a friend, skeptic John Smith travels to the woods of Maine to investigate Bigfoot sightings. The last thing he expects to find besides a legendary creature is a sexy trail guide.
Earl Eli plans to trick his pretentious guest with a fake Bigfoot appearance, but when he and John fall for each other, he calls off the hoax — or so he thinks.
In the wilderness, a beast, a violin and two men in a log cabin equal a recipe for action.
