November is National Novel Writing Month, that time of year when writers delve into their craft, consume copious amounts of caffeine, forgo sleep, and eschew obligations with live people to spend more time with make-believe people.
In honor of #NaNoWriMo and the high-highs and low-lows that may be even more pronounced this November due to the new president elect, he-who-shall-not-be-named, I’ve compiled some inspirational quotes from fellow writers to get you through the tough times.
And, I’ll leave you with this last bit of advice with regard to writing your first draft: we’re making mud here, people, so it’s okay that it’s dirty the first time around. The masterpiece will come later. Mud comes first.
