We’re so pleased to welcome author Taylor V. Donovan to TNA’s 5 Year Blogiversary Celebration. Taylor’s here to share some great GRL memories, and she’s also got a fantastic giveaway for which you can find details below.
As you may or may not know, I’m an author of gay romantic fiction who’s mostly been missing in action for a while, but working on her come back. ;-) I’m also incredibly grateful to Lisa for all she and her team do for Gay Romancelandia, but most of all for all she’s done for me.
You see, back in July 2013, I released this little story called Disasterology 101, and I knew it was different in many ways. Needless to say, I was as nervous of the reception it would get as I was excited to finally bring it to my readers. Mainly I was nervous, though. Then The Novel Approach got it for review, and to this day I remember Lisa’s reaction to the story. I remember receiving an e-mail from her asking if she could interview me about the story, and I remember her review. It was an amazing moment in my career as an author, at a time where I wasn’t too sure whether my work belonged to this genre or not, and it meant the world to me. Fast-forward a few months. We are now at GRL Atlanta and I’m doing my first event as an author. It was a Q&A, and guess who moderated it? Lisa! And man, she was great. I was nervous. She handled that session like a pro, and helped me relax without even knowing that she was, then she did the same a year later at GRL Chicago, and I totally fell in love. If I could have her as a moderator for every author event I might attend, I would. :)
Lisa and The Novel Approach have played an important part in my short and not-so-consistent career. She’s hosted me for every release I’ve had, and she’s been incredibly patient with super-busy me every time I blew a deadline for a post. That’s why I had to be here to celebrate five years of reviews, guest appearances, and hours and hours of hard work that Lisa and her team put into hosting authors, reviewing our books, and helping us grow our audience. Thank you so much to all of you, and here’s to another five. Happy Blogiversary, TNA Team! Much love to all of you. <3
P.S. I come bearing presents (check out the Rafflecopter widget below). Stop by and say hello, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card, two sets of signed paperbacks of the second editions of my By Degrees series (US Residents), and two sets of the electronic edition (Int’l), and five e-copies of Disasterology 101.
Six Degrees of Lust, Second Edition
Release Date: January 2, 2017
By Degrees; Book One
New York City FBI team leader Samuel Shaughnessy lives for his immediate family and his job. After a marriage gone wrong he has stuck to a firm rule when it comes to relationships: he doesn’t have them. Sexually active and emotionally unavailable keeps him satisfied, especially now that he is in hot pursuit of a serial killer targeting gay men.
Former firefighter Machlan O’Bannon now manages a successful sports bar in Houston and after years of waiting he’s ready to stand up and be the man he always wanted to be: out, proud and drama-free. His politically-aligned family wants to keep him locked in the closet, but Mac just wants to meet the man of his dreams.
One man is as high strung as the other is laid back. A chance meeting brings the two men together, and one night of passion ignites a fire neither can fight. Their lives are not only miles apart, but as different as day and night. They don’t want to get involved, but they might not be able to keep apart.
First Edition published by MLR Press, December 2011.
About the Author
Taylor V. Donovan is a compulsive reader and author of gay romance and suspense. She is optimistically cynical about humanity and a lover of history, museums, and all things 80s. She shamelessly indulges in mind-numbing reality television, is crazy about fashion, and passionate about civil rights and equality for all.
When she’s not writing or making a living in the busiest city in the world, Taylor can be found raising her two daughters and their terribly misbehaved furry baby in their home.

Hi Taylor, Good to have you back. Heatstroke was one of the first M/M novels I read and I was hooked on the genre.
Congrats on your re-release next year.
Thank you so much, Tanja. Glad to hear you enjoyed Heatstroke. Happy Holidays!

Hi Taylor! I’m looking forward to your “comeback” this year. :) I completely understand why Disasterology grabbed Lisa’s attention since I feel the same way about it.
Hi Debra! I’m looking forward to it, too, especially to releasing new material. We’ll see how that goes. Hopefully a repeat of D101. g
The first time I’ve heard of your novel Disasterology 101, I wasn’t actually hooked at first but man, when I got to read it, all I could say was, “Wow! I was very wrong. This is actually an awesome novel.” And the rest as they say is history winks. Been an avid reader & your novels never fail to amaze me. I was actually saddened by your hiatus but what’s more important is that you’re back and I could read another sequel of By Degrees series (which I really love. <3) I'm also looking forward to Bylaws sequels.
I'm so happy for you. Welcome back! hugs
Hi James! Thank you so much for stopping by (and for giving D101 a chance and sticking with me!). Hiatus sucks, especially the part where I forced my readers to wait for sequels, but I’m looking forward to making it up to you, guys. Definitely giving it my all and doing my best to ensure the new material is worth the wait. :-)
Hi Taylor, welcome back!! Looking forward to reading your stories!!!
