Hello! K.C. Wells and I are delighted to be involved in The Novel Approach’s fifth anniversary! We’d like to congratulate Lisa and crew on this milestone.

Now, for those who don’t know, K.C. Wells and I did a series called Collars & Cuffs. Eight books filled with a little bit of BDSM, and a whole lot of love. Well, the final book, Endings and Beginnings, came out earlier this year. Through the tears, we began planning a new series called ‘Secrets’. In this one, Eli and Jarod (from Dom of Ages) have left Manchester to open a club of their own in London. We’re going to be seeing a whole new set of characters, including Ellis and Wayne (who star in the first book). Here’s the blurb for the story:

Six years ago, Ellis walked into his first briefing as the newest member of London’s Specialist Firearms unit. He was partnered with Wayne and they became fast friends. When Wayne begins to notice changes – Ellis’s erratic temper, the effects of sleep deprivation – he knows he has to act, before Ellis reaches breaking point. He invites Ellis to the opening of the new BDSM club, Secrets, where Wayne has a membership. His purpose? He wants Ellis to glimpse the lifestyle before Wayne approaches him with a proposition. He wants to take Ellis in hand, to control his life, because he wants his friend back and he figures this is the only way to do it.
 
There are a few issues, however. Ellis is straight. Stubborn. And sexy. Wayne knows he has to put his own feelings aside to be what Ellis needs. What surprises the hell out of him is when he finds out what Ellis actually requires.

The Excerpt

Ellis was bent across the bed, his arse sticking up, presenting the most tantalizing picture. But tonight wasn’t about the view—it was about helping take Ellis out of his head.

When he sat on the bed, Wayne noticed Ellis’s sharp intake of breath. Ellis would deny it, he would fight it, but Wayne knew he needed this.

“I’m going to administer your punishment now, Ellis. I want you to count off as I do each stroke. If you lose count, we start again. Do you understand?”

“Yes,” Ellis replied, his voice hoarse.

Wayne checked Ellis’s reflection in the mirror on the wardrobe door before starting. Ellis stared ahead, his jaw set.

Wayne swatted him on the right cheek.

“One.”

“No, that one was for not addressing me properly. Now I’ll ask again. Do you understand?”

“I said yes,” Ellis gritted out.

Another swat. “I can keep this up all night. And if my hand gets tired, I have a paddle I could use. Final time. Do you understand?”

“Yes… Sir,” he spat, which led to yet another swat. Ellis glared at him in the mirror. “What the hell? I said it.”

“Without a single bit of respect. You’ll learn, though. Now let’s begin. Remember, count each one off or I start over.”

Wayne knew that it wouldn’t take many before Ellis lost count. In fact, he was planning on it.

He brought his hand down with a loud crack for the first swat, and Ellis gave a start. “One,” he ground out, loud and clear. Wayne continued, making sure the blows never landed in the same place twice. For the next four smacks, Ellis maintained his volume. By the eighth, his voice began to trail off. By the tenth, he was quieter still, and by the fifteenth, he stopped counting altogether. His eyes lost focus and he breathed more steadily.

Ellis had found his subspace.

After checking the rosy cheeks—and pushing down hard on the urge to sink his dick between them—Wayne manhandled Ellis onto the bed, then stripped off his own clothes. He grasped the bedspread from where it lay folded at the foot of the bed, and tugged it, covering Ellis.

Wayne stared at his boy—because that’s what you are, even if you won’t admit yet—and then lifted the cover and crawled in behind him, before wrapping Ellis in an embrace.

“I’ve got you,” he murmured, breathing Ellis in. “You’re safe with me.”

“Yes, Sir.” His words were faint, tinged with fatigue.

The sound of deep, even breaths eventually lulled Wayne to sleep as well.
