Simply the Best 2016: Jules’ Top Reads of the Year – and a Giveaway!

As 2016 draws to its inevitable close, we here at The Novel Approach would like to pay homage to some of the books, and their respective authors, that helped us escape some of the madness of the real world this year. At least for a little while.

  1. The Scoring Changes series by Avon Gale, the Protectors Series by Sloane Kennedy and the Homerun Series by Sloan Johnson are among my favorite reads of 2016.

  2. I share Jules’s choice with Hexmaker and Overexposed. Besides that, some of my best MM read this year is A Gentleman’s Position, Fallow, Maze-Born Trouble and Until September.

  3. I loved Avon Gale’s POWER PLAY and EMPTY NET, Arthur Griffin’s THE LUSTY ADVENTURES OF THESEUS, and Ann Gallagher’s ALL THE WRONG PLACES.

  5. Great List. I am anxiously awaiting the audio version of “Tied Up In Knots” and love anything by Mary Calmes. I also loved R J Scott’s Montana series and “Winter Heart” by B G Thomas. (Great series BTW). And loved the “Candy” series by Amy Lane. Wow it is hard to choose!

  7. Anything my Felice Stevens, Mary Calmes, Riley Hart. I loved the Protector series by Sloan Kennedy and the Scoring series by Avon Gale!

  8. Few of my MM favorite reads this year are Avon Gale’s “Power Play” and “Empty Net”, C.B. Lewis’s “Time Waits” and “Time Lost”, Stephen Osborne’s “Under the Red Moon”, and the short story from S.A. Stovall for this year’s DSP Bah! Humbung “Ranger Station Haven”

  9. I found Chronicles of an Earned series by Meraki P Lyhne and can’t wait for the next books in the series
    She also has The Cubi series which I’m also waiting for the next book
    I’ve just started the Protector series by Sloane Kennedy and love it!!
    The Beacon Hill Sorcerer series by SJ Himes is another favourite

  11. Totally agree with the The Scoring Chances series by Avon Gale. Also, The Queen & The Homo Jock King by TJ Klune – I have the ebook and audiobook, both are great.

  12. Tied Up in Knots is at the top of my list too. I also liked Dirty Heart by Rhys Ford, the Vanished trilogy by Carter Quinn, and Bitter Legacy by Dal Maclean.

  13. I love seeing the Scoring Chances series on your list, Jules! One of my absolute favorites this year. The only other one I’ve read from your list was Overexposed, and it was lovely. I only barely read that series this year, and it’s fantastic. Her Cyberlove series with Santino Hassell was on my favorites list. I’m so looking forward to number 3! His Interborough is also at the top. I’m just in love with the whole Five Boroughs series. Pansies by Alexis Hall and Rag and Bone by KJ Charles were some other faves that come to mind.
