Iβm going to be an Englishman in New Yorkβ¦!!
Well not really, Iβll be in California but I couldnβt resist the title. Iβm a huge Sting fan and love this song.
Iβve only been to the US once back in 1999. I did a whistle stop ten-day tour of New York, New Orleans, Kentucky and Disneyland Florida. The best trip of my life. And now Iβm coming to California for the California Dreaminβ Conference. Iβll also be a guest speaker and talk to the audience about two topics close to my heart.
This all came about because of my collaboration with Hollywood actor and producer Nicholas Downs. My latest release, Sight Unseen, was written as a novel based on his original script and we plan on adapting this to film to writing the screenplay together.
Heβll be here too on Saturday 25th March at around 4 pm, signing Sight Unseen with me. So if youβre a Mr Downs fan, and who isnβt, come along and meet him personally.

These are the topics Iβll be chatting about
Friday night, 24th March from 7 – 7:50 pm THE EVER-CHANGING LANDSCAPE OF M/M ROMANCE — Join Susan Mac Nicol, bestselling author of over a dozen M/M romances, including the popular Men of London series, for a frank but casual chat about this growing sub-genre and all its intricacies. Be prepared, no topic is off-limits.
Then from 8-8:50 pm, THE BRITISH INVASION — UK Author, Susan Mac Nicol, has crossed the big pond and an entire continent, to dish about all things British. Whether you’re writing Regencies, Victorians, or want a contemporary British setting, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to talk to a ‘local’ about locations, characters, history, food…and even the proper spellings to keep your reader engaged.
The California Dreaminβ event takes place Friday 24 – March 26

There’ll also be a very special signing event at The Abbey, an iconic gay club in West Hollywood. It’s a stunning venue and Nicholas and I will be signing in the Cabana Bar.
This takes place on the 23rd March at 4 pm, no doubt I’ll be jet-lagged having just arrived the night before. I’ll need plenty of Red Bull. Nicholas and I will be there to enjoy ourselves, meet fans, sign books, chat and have some fun. If you’re in the area, please pop down and say hi.

Iβm truly excited and I do hope if youβre in the area, you can make it. It would be wonderful to meet anyone that reads my books or watches Nicholasβs films.
And this is what all the fuss is about. My latest release, Sight Unseen.

Excerpt
The house was oddly quiet, which was worrying. Nate was nowhere to be seen; there was only a strange, rhythmic sound emanating from down the hallβNate’s bedroom.
I frowned at the noise and started toward his bedroom door. A sudden sense of fear that he’d fallen and hurt himself, perhaps misjudged a stepβmade my skin tingle and my step quicken.
I knew I should call out, warn him I’d invaded his space, but I was scared if I did, I’d startle him and make things worse. He could be shaving and I’d hate for him to cut himself. So, taking the middle ground, I said nothing and gently pushed open his bedroom door, fully expecting him to grin and tell me he was Daredevil and he’d known I was there.
The sight that greeted my eyes is one I’ll remember as long as I live. Nate lay on the bed, legs spread wide, knees up, feet planted over the covers. His lithe, sun-kissed body glistened with sweat as he grasped his cock and jacked himself off. He had his ear buds in, and his eyes were half closed, lips parted and the look on his faceβ¦
I nearly came there and then.
