Review: Because I’m a follower of the Unbreakable Bonds series, I looked at this book of short stories a little differently; as if I’d picked it up for the first time, having never heard of or read the series, and what I would take away from this book about Rowe Ward and Noah Keegan.
In Piece of Pie, Rowe is suffering with the loss of his beloved Mel, but he soon finds out that he is still loved and accepted by Mel’s family—and they open their heart to Noah too.
In Mistletoe, Noah wants to give Rowe some new memories for his first Christmas without Mel, and for their first Christmas together.
Haunted deals with the loss of Noah’s parents, at the age of five. He was raised by his grandmother, and now he’s returned to Alabama to sell the home that he couldn’t feel comfortable in. Noah grieves because he could never be honest and open with his grandmother about himself, but Rowe is there to help Noah heal.
In There Goes the Security Deposit, Rowe and Noah (Torch), Lucas and Andrei (Shiver), and Snow and Jude (Shatter) find themselves on a houseboat for some RandR. As you read about each of these extraordinary men, and start to see the special connection between them, there will be at least one, if not all of them, who will pique your interest. Even the mention of Ian Pierce and Hollis Banner (Devour) may draw you in because of the feelings that all these men share.
The writing team of Drake and Elliott never fail to give us quality entertainment, whether it’s a novel or fun shorts about each of their guys. Each storyline is sweet, steamy, sexy, funny, heartwarming and heartbreaking, but most of all, it’s about a special family with a special bond that has grown with the acceptance and love of others.
Just a note for the Unbreakable followers: with the exception of Piece of Pie, the timeline for these stories is set after Devour, the last book in the series.
