Welcome to co-authors Elizabeth Silver and Jenny Urban, and the tour for their latest collaboration, In His Majesty’s Service, from Riptide Publishing. Elizabeth sat Jenny in the interview chair for their visit today, so enjoy and be sure to check out the great giveaway they have for you too.
Welcome, Elizabeth and Jenny!
Jenny in the Hotseat
Hi, everyone! Liz Silver here. Today I’ll be putting my co-author and BFF in the interview hotseat for your entertainment. And mine, because I’d never pass up such a golden opportunity to give my bestie an epic amount of shit. Especially if it means I get to force her to be social. Seriously, I had to hunt her down and trap her for this interview. Hope you guys appreciate what I do for you.
Liz: So glad you could join us today, Jenny. I hope the Duck Tape isn’t too tight?
Jenny: :P
L: Okay. First question: I know we met as over-active fangirls back in the day, which is what eventually led to us taking the publishing leap together, but do you remember when you first decided you wanted to tell stories?
J: Oh, I was probably 12 or so. I wrote a pretty melodramatic story complete with domestic violence and teen pregnancy for my first attempt. I have a hard time throwing things away, so I probably still have it in a box somewhere.
L: Some people need quiet to write, some people sit in noisy coffee shops, some people create a playlist for each project. What about you? Do you have any traditions to get and keep you in the zone when you’re writing?
J: I need background noise of some kind, so I usually have the TV on. Being in the zone depends entirely on what I’m writing, so unfortunately I don’t have any tricks for that.
L: Every writer I’ve ever met is also a voracious reader. Other than MM, what’s your favorite genre to read? Least favorite? Why?
J: Right now it’s romantic suspense. It goes in cycles for me, so at times it’s been historical and scifi and paranormal, etc., etc. You get the idea. There really isn’t a genre that it least favorite because of that.
L: If you had to describe In His Majesty’s Service to someone in 250 words or less, what would you say?
J: PORN IN SPAAAACE. No, kidding. Erotic romance in space. <g>. You know I hate this question, I’m so bad at summarizing. It’s about two men who find what they never knew they needed just in time to fight to keep it. In space. <g>
L: Okay. Most important question saved for last. If you could only watch one TV show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
J: It’s a toss-up between a few shows, actually, but if absolutely pressed, I’d have to say NCIS.
A huge thank you to Jenny for putting up with my weird self and for humoring me today. Hopefully this wasn’t too painful and you’ll forgive me soon. Especially since we have all the things to write in our near future!
About the Book
Everyone in the Drion Collective knows that finding your match—the one person in existence with the same soul mark as yours—is the best thing that could ever happen. But the last thing Lord Anders Hawthorne is thinking about when he boards a ship to Drion for the king’s funeral is finding his soul mate.
Captain Zachary O’Connell has the perfect life—his ship, the stars, and no emotional entanglements. When heat sparks between him and Lord Hawthorne, Zach gleefully dives into a no-strings arrangement. He doesn’t expect it to last beyond arrival at Drion, any more than he expects trouble along the way.
Trouble quickly finds them, however, and it soon becomes clear that Lord Hawthorne is not only not who he says he is, but also that he’s the target of a deadly plot. With danger all around them, Zach and Anders must work together to save the Collective. Meanwhile, Zach must come to grips with losing everything he always thought he wanted, to have the one thing he never dreamed he needed.

About Elizabeth Silver
Elizabeth Silver is a writer, a tarot reader, a Level Two Cat Lady, and an internet junkie. Her day job is terribly dull, her hobbies oddly specific and quirky, and her husband the most patient person a writer could ask for.
A New Jersey native, Liz is a proud nerd and an awkward human being. She likes to think it makes her endearing. When not writing, Liz can be found collecting tarot cards, chasing Pokemon, fighting her way out of YouTube spirals, and/or performing online searches that will probably land her on a government list somewhere someday.

Oh this book sounds so good! Both Elizabeth and Jenny are new authors for me. I cannot wait to read this one! landfjacobson @ charter . net
Thanks for the interview, and congrats, Liz & Jenny. I’m kind of all over the place with genres too. As long as the writing is good so that it takes it past the tropes, then I’m good with it.. Well, also as long as it’s gay. – Purple Reader,
