Blurb: Rob and Dominick are trying to adjust to married life but Dominick’s job takes more time away than Rob expected, especially since Dominick is on the trail of a killer who slaughtered an entire family as they slept. Rob has problems of his own at Martindale’s Institution for boys, namely a new intake who claims he hooked up with Dominick in a BDSM club. If that’s not enough, Dominick’s mafia connections are about to catch up with him, and he will risk everything to save his sister, including his job.
Review: Dominick Cortez and Rob Dewhurst have reunited and married after a long separation, getting their second chance at love. Dominick being a NYC detective and Rob being co-director at Martindale Institute, a correctional facility for boys, finds them adjusting to their chaotic schedule.
After the loss of his mother, him taking his sister Sophie away from their mobster boss father, a hit out on Dominick which causes Rob to get shot and sees Frank Cortez incarcerated at Riker’s Island Prison, Dominick and his partner, Betty Kenda, are now dealing with the brutal murders of the entire Regis family. And, as if that weren’t enough, there’s a rumor about Dominick that Rob must deal with, and a young boy who’s just been admitted to Martindale. And then Sophie disappears.
Whether mobster Frank Cortez is jailed or walking free, he wreaks havoc on Dominick and Rob’s life. When Dominick comes up with one of the most diabolical plans against his father, he must question whether the risk is worth it, for both himself and Betty; they could not only lose their jobs…they could lose their lives.
I’m so absolutely entertained by the Patterns series. Suede Delray packs a lot of action, suspense and gruesome murders into this short novel. Even though these books are easy to read, there’s still so much drama and excitement going on that you never know what’s going to happen next. I like the chemistry between Rob and Dominick—it’s getting a little kinky. Then there’s the evilest villain of all, Frank Cortez. Will he ever be stopped? I’m so ready for the next installment Patterns Revealed.
