Review: So, who would have thought so long ago, when Logan put his briefcase down and sat on that barstool, that we would end up here?! When Logan looked at Tate for the first time and thought, “I want him,” that that moment would change his life forever.

Ahhhh, this journey! Ella Frank has done what few authors could do and that is, kept the romance and story of one singular couple fresh, innovative and engaging to read for five books now. And, her whole audience is eagerly awaiting number six, me included. That’s some impressive writing skills. Also, this is not a standalone book! There are things that happen in Tate, over and above “the awful scene”, that you will NOT understand unless you have read this series from the very first book. The only way to get inside Logan’s head and understand him and his relationship with Tate, or, the only way to understand where Tate is coming from and really get why he does what he does, is to read from the beginning. That being said, a review for this book is on the difficult side because if you are current with the series, then it’s like preaching to the choir. And if you’re not, then I have to recommend you go back and start fresh or from where you left off before continuing.

I really feel like Tease was an overall journey for Logan. That book ended with Logan’s epiphany about his feelings for Tate, and now, this book is about Tate’s journey to reach the same place Logan has already achieved. There is a reason this book is named Tate. The man has a lot of unresolved issues in his life concerning his family and his sexuality, and I applaud Ella Frank for facing those head-on in this book. The beginning starts as a perfect example of how one person in a relationship can have secrets or worries, and the other person doesn’t realize the significance of it. Logan’s entire psyche has been flipped upside down with the realization that he wants to ask Tate to marry him. Up to this point Logan has been quintessentially phobic of admitting to any kind of attachment or strings with regard to Tate. We have all known the strings were there; it just took a while for Logan to know it also. Tate has to come to terms with this “new” Logan Mitchell as well as his new family dynamic, being a successful bar owner, and really settling into who he wants to be going forward. The ties were severed that made him a Morrison, he supposedly knows he will never be a Mitchell, so where does that leave him and his need to truly belong somewhere? It is the existence of such a need that makes Logan want to give Tate everything, to be everything that Tate will ever want or need again that drives his sudden desire to marry the man and make a home for Tate and with Tate.

These men are consumed with each other and a true delight to read about. They are complicated, masculine, and so damn sweet.

I dare you to try. I think you’re my truth. Terrify me. Marry me. William Tate Morrison. William Tate Morrison-Mitchell. William Tate Mitchell-Morrison. William Tate Mitchell.

This book is all about moving forward. Tate and Logan’s HEA is on the horizon, and I cannot wait for the next book to see how they sail off into the sunset together. It’s been a journey, but wow! What a journey. I am also truly looking forward to Priest and Robbie’s story. Ooooooh, the fireworks! Can. Not. Wait. This was a fantastic book and, of course, I recommend it as well as the author. Read Ella Frank, you won’t regret it.
