Welcome to The Novel Approach’s Six Year Blogiversary!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been six wild and wonderful years since I claimed this space on the interwebs. Time flies when you’re reading books, I guess, but let’s face it, would we have it any other way? I know, silly question… But take a moment to think about the sheer number of hours we spend reading. Can you name another more personal and solitary pastime you participate in that also makes you an honorary member of such a vast and diverse community of people? I mean, something you can do in public, anyway. 😉
I believe what we have here is pretty unique and special, if I do say so myself. 7,340 blog posts—many thousands of those reviews—tens of thousands of visitor comments, hundreds of thousands of site views, it’s been a long and glorious ride, and while I often think about my retirement from blogging, sometimes on a daily basis, I’m also not quite sure when the right time for that will be just yet. Part of me says soon, while there is a greater part of me that can’t imagine not being here and doing this every day. It is, as I often say, a labor of love, and it’s one I take a great amount of satisfaction in. Celebrating books and a common love of reading gives so many of us a place in the world that is truly ours—not as parents, nor spouses, nor partners, nor employees, but a fundamental part of what makes us who we are as individuals comes for our love of books, and I embrace that wholly and joyfully.
So, one more dive into the great big grab-bag of sentimentality, if you’ll indulge me, simply to offer a heartfelt Thank You. To readers and authors and tour promoters and to the TNA review team for making The Novel Approach everything it is. I couldn’t do this without any of you. 😊
And now, for the fun part, the giveaways!

Happy Blogiversary to you. I’m looking forward to some great Christmas reads ;)
congrats sweetie , you are amazing and fabulous <3
For Riptide I’ve preordered the remaining Bluewater Bay books so I’m looking forward to that. I just bought the whole Offbeat Crimes series from Pride and I think there are more of those coming (clearly I like me a series to sink my teeth into) and I don’t think I’m really waiting on anything from Dreamspinner, but I’m sure something will come up.
Thanks for all the effort and time you put into your website <3 I only started reading books from the mm genre in late 2015 and sites like your helped me a lot to figure out where to start, what are good reads in general and what I liked, since there are so many books out there.
I am looking forward to the final book in the Offbeat Crimes series (Pride Publishing), Ghost of a Chance from the Dreamspun Beyond series (Dreamspinner Press) and I'd like to give Relay by Layla Reyne (Riptide Publishing) a chance, since I really enjoyed her Agents Irish and Whiskey books. In general I go with the flow and don't look into the future too much unless it is a series. I look forward to books from Ink Born, TIN, Marshals and Psycop. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that came to my mind right now.
Happy Anniversary! I’m looking forward to Rebel, Southernmost Murder, and the rest of the Advent Calendar stories from DSP. From Riptide: the Porthenack stories, the rest of the Bluewater Bay stories. From Pride Publishing: Angel Martinez’s Offbeat Crimes.
At Pride, Lynn Lorenz’s PUSHING PHILIP looks good. At DSP, Jeff Adams and Will Knauss’s THE HOCKEY PLAYER’S HEART is a must. And of course, I’m hoping 2018 will finally be the year for Damon Suede’s HARD HEAD!
At Riptide, I’d try Layla Reyne’s RELAY. (Happy blogiversary, BTW!)
Congrats and thank you on 6 years! The work you put into the blog shows every day! I’m looking forward to Not Today by M.C. Lee, When It’s Time by Zane Riley, Relay by Layla Reyne, Reckless Behavior and Romantic Behavior by L.A. Witt and Cari Z, and Beneath This Mask by Victoria Sue. Also anything by Charlie Cochet, Brandon Witt, Jay Bell, N.R. Walker, and Kaje Harper.
One of the books that I’m really looking forward to read is Relay by Layla Reyne. <3
Congrats on 6 years of The Novel Approach! 👏 🙌
Let’s see…books I’m looking forward to: from Dreamspinner; anything by C S Poe, but definitely impatient for Snow & Winter book 3. From Riptide; another historical from the Porthkennack series. From Amazon; the next Demonica Underworld books from Larrisa Ione. I haven’t yet purchased from or made an account with Pride Publishing, mostly because of limited funds for my reading addiction, so I didn’t feel comfortable entering for their prize. The titles I mentioned are my current favorites, but my TBR mountain is massive along with my WishLists. Winning a giftcard from any of these sellers would be fabulous and truly appreciated, especially this time of year-I could get a gift for my reader pals and a guilt-free gift for me!
Thanks for the opportunity to win some great prizes and thanks for a great book review blog. Wishing you many more years to celebrate. 🎉 📚🎇📖🎊📑
I’m looking forward to Two Man Station by Lisa Henry from Riptide Publishing.
I’m looking forward to Safe and Sound by Jaime Samms from Pride Publishing.
I’m excited about Dream by Garrett Leigh and One Under by JL Merrow in 2018.
Thanks so much for helping us celebrate 6 wonderful years, everyone! The giveaways have closed, and all the prizes have been awarded. Congratulations to the winners: Mari, Kathy, Trix, and Shirley A.!!!
