Cheers, everyone, and Merry Christmas to all of you celebrating today! I’m chuffed to bits to be here to share Sadonna’s favorite books of the year with you as well as the chance to win a couple of eBooks from her list, so here they are, her best of the best!

Moment of Fate by Karen Stivali – Wow! I was really blown away by this story. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first three books in this series, and I’ve yet to read book four even though I bought right when it was released. This story is so well written; although, if you’re not a fan of angst, you might have a tough go of it. Bryan has a lot going on and some of the crap that he has to deal with is pretty intense. He’s proud and a bit damaged.
Oliver is such a lovely guy, truly a good man who is so right for Bryan in pretty much every way. Together they have to overcome Bryan’s fear and tendency to protect himself at all costs.
Tru Smoke, Tru Burn, Tru Flame: Ember Park series by Edie Danford – From Tru Flame: I have to say I really just loved this story. This is the real and romantic and just completely perfect final chapter for this couple. It was wonderful to watch them gain their footing as parents and be able to see that they wouldn’t lose themselves, and that they could have help and not relinquish their responsibilities. I loved all of the secondary characters in this series as well, and Sandra redeemed herself beautifully in this story. I cheered for this couple and their new family, from page one, and was left with a huge dreamy smile by the last page. My only complaint is that the series is over. I hope maybe someday we can revisit this couple—maybe with getting Gunnar’s HEA, or Sandra’s?? Pretty please??
Summer Lessons by Amy Lane – One of the best thing about Amy Lane stories are the fantastic supporting characters. In addition to Mason’s family and the cast of characters from the soccer team, there are some wonderful moments with Mason’s admin. Mrs. Bradford is an absolute rock star! I can only wish to work with such a fabulous lady. There is also some amazing karma to be witnessed.
This series is just a delight! It’s wonderful to watch these characters find their way and grow into the men they are meant to be. It’s satisfying to see them accept that they are worthy and lovable and able to make a happy life. Characters from the first book and this one mingle seamlessly, and the circle continues to grow. If only we were all so lucky to find such a wonderful group of friends. I can’t wait for the next installment, because Dane and Carpenter deserve their happy ending as well.
Inches of Trust by A.R. Moler – I’ve been a fan of A.R. Moler’s work for years, and this is another series that confirms my enjoyment of her stories. She is so good with each story—a nice, contained vignette of Brian and Tristan’s budding relationship. As the stories progress, we get to really know Brian and especially Tristan, and see what makes them tick and why they are so good for each other. This is a lovely slow-building love story between two very different men who learn to trust each other despite past experiences. Recommended especially for fans of more mature characters who take the time to build something real.
Wedding Favors by Anne Tenino – There are so many things to like about this story. Lucas and Gabe are both strong characters, and we get to know both of them since the story is told from both POVs. Both have their vulnerabilities and their blind spots. The secondary characters—Audrey, Lucas’s BFF, and the rest of his and Gabe’s families—help move the story along with their input and demands on the guys, and I had forgotten how much I enjoy Anne Tenino’s writing. The dialogue and the characters and the setting pulled me into the story, immediately. I haven’t read any of the other Bluewater Bay books, previously, and I didn’t feel like I missed a beat—this book works well as a standalone.
