Guest Post and Giveaway: Twice in a Lifetime by Jodie Griffin

We’re so pleased to have author Jodie Griffin dropping in today to celebrate the release of her new book, Twice in a Lifetime, from Riptide Publishing. She’s sharing a fun look at the book’s MCs as well as a giveaway, so be sure to check out those details below.

Welcome, Jodie!

A LOOK AT EVE’S AND TALIA’S TO-DO LISTS

Hi! I’m Jodie Griffin, and I write contemporary romance and kinky erotic romance. I’m here to talk about my sixth published book, TWICE IN A LIFETIME, a contemporary female/female story with mature characters—and my first story for Riptide!

I loved this idea for a blog post. To me, my characters are very real, and I didn’t have too much trouble thinking about what their To-Do lists might look like. Not only that—I’m a planner nerd, and I didn’t have any problem figuring out how they’d track all their stuff.

Talia is totally a bullet journal type planner. Paper and pen, stickers and washi tape, in a leather TN (traveler’s notebook) that lives in her purse and goes with her wherever she goes, either work or home. If she lost it, she’d be devastated, because she tracks weekend work events, Rissa’s college schedule, doctor’s appointments, birthdays for every person in her extended family, a cleaning rotation for her house, and her ever-expanding To-Do list, among other things.

She also keeps a running gratitude tracker in a separate insert. Ever since she started seeing Eve, that gratitude tracker is getting quite the workout.

Talia’s current To-Do list:

  • Phone sex with Eve
  • Plan dinner and shop for Eve’s birthday
  • Pick up vitamins from pharmacy
  • Stop at tea shop downtown to pick up Eve’s favorite blend
  • Lingerie sale at the mall
  • Call Rissa
  •  Dinner with Lila
  •  Make cookies for class at shul

(Those last three bullets will be filled before Monday’s over….)

Eve likes to keep her personal to-do list on her phone, but she also likes seeing things like her daily weight and stats from her fitness tracker by month, all on one page.  So for home, she’s got a minimalist calendar on her desk that tracks all of those things, plus birthdays, Derrick’s leave dates…and a running list of places she wants to go and things she wants to do with Talia.

And to Talia.

Eve’s current To-Do list, which she keeps on her phone because then she always has it. Just like her grocery list, so she doesn’t have to write the same things over and over again.

  • Laundry
  • Change sheets
  • Groceries (see list)
  • Pick up vitamins from pharmacy
  • Stop at bakery and pick up Talia’s favorite croissants for the morning
  • Lingerie sale at the mall
  • Call Derrick
  • Call Mama
  •  Get some alone time with Tal…

Like Talia, Eve’s To-Do list will be full by the end of the day on Monday—no, scratch that. It’ll be full by noon on Monday. Eve’s list is always long, because she has a hard time saying no…..

Hope you enjoyed this peek into Eve and Talia’s planners. I’d like to thank The Novel Approach for letting me stop by, and I hope you take the chance to visit all of the other blog sites that are part of this tour. Leave a comment and you’ll be entered to win a $25 Riptide Publishing gift card.

About the Book

When widow Talia Wasserman applies for a job with the local police department, she’s shocked to discover she’ll be working for Lieutenant Eve Poe, an officer she’d met—and been attracted to—during a long-ago citizen’s police academy workshop. Fifteen years later, the spark is still there, and no one’s currently in Talia’s life or in her bed. But there’s just one teeny, tiny problem. Eve is her boss, so she’s completely off-limits.

Eve feels a sizzling connection with Talia from the very first, but Talia works for her, and that’s just a bad idea. Besides, Eve needs to focus on the person sending disturbing emails to her office, and not on the woman who quickly makes herself invaluable to the department. It’s too bad her heart doesn’t agree with her.

Then Eve is badly injured in the line of duty, and Talia’s worst fears are realized. She may lose her chance at happiness with the woman she’s come to love, and she can’t survive that kind of loss twice in a lifetime.

About the Author

Jodie Griffin didn’t always want to be a writer. She spent hours reading, but school papers were written one painful word at a time. Then a story idea came, demanding to be put on paper. After years of practice, she took the leap, submitted her first manuscript, and hasn’t looked back.

Jodie is also an avid photographer, a chocoholic, and a lover of bad puns. When she’s not writing, she’s likely out stalking the moon for that perfect shot.

Jodie’s own happily ever after includes one incredibly supportive husband and one future heroine. Visit Jodie at www.jodiegriffin.com.

  2. Thanks for sharing the ladies’ to-do lists. I never used to be a list person but now I tend to forget things if I don’t keep one.
