Blurb: Country hat act Markus Kane is skeptical when he’s asked to do a joint tour. He hasn’t seen Sebastian Longchamps since he gave up drinking—and since their compulsion for each other nearly cost them both their livelihoods. But Markus’s career is on the downhill slope, while the country-fried Cajun rocker’s star is still rising. His label thinks it’ll be a match made in ticket-sales heaven.
Sebastian knows better. One wrong move and Markus will break his heart all over again. This time he has much more to lose.
Time has changed both men, though, and while Markus and Sebastian try to fight their addictions, the big music industry machine has plans for them that don’t include a quiet retirement. Can Markus convince Sebastian that there are things in life more important than adrenaline and control? And can Sebastian make Markus understand that all he really wants is his music and his man?

Review: Markus Kane and Sebastian Longchamps had a great musical career and toured together for three years, but having any type of relationship in the Country Music industry was out of the question. They eventually split up because of the pressure and fear of their sexual preferences being revealed.
Eight years later, after Markus had turned to booze, then went through rehab, and now is semi-retired from the music business, he gets a call from Seb. Markus is willing to take one last chance and team up with Seb again to combine their extraordinary musical talents. The more time they spend touring and getting reacquainted, the more Markus notices how odd Seb has become. Not eating, exercising religiously, popping pills and strange sleeping habits along with a grueling work schedule, Seb’s escape is taking extreme chances to find that adrenaline rush that he seems to need. Markus finally has enough of Seb’s ways and takes control—with some very interesting tactics—to get Seb behaving and looking better, making the touring life much better for everyone.
Both Markus and Seb know deep in their hearts they have strong feelings for each other, but fears and doubts hold them back from expressing them. Even after all the time that has passed, they don’t know if they can have a future together. The pressure from agents, record labels, fans and the press could still cause them to lose everything, and each other, again. When deceit and skimming are discovered, Seb can’t believe the one person he trusted for ten years has been stealing from him. Could this send him over the edge?
BA Tortuga delivers an emotional story about two former lovers who could have a chance for new beginnings at life. Both Markus and Seb are cemented together with their love of creating music. Much of the storyline takes place behind the scenes of the tour and in the music world. There’s also a nice contrast with Markus being the much stronger and more in control character since he broke away from the music world and fought his addiction, even though it’s still a temptation, while Seb continuing a stressful touring and promotional schedule has him falling apart. There’s an edge of tenseness to the storyline with every issue that arises, and it left me wondering if this growing relationship could survive. I also found two very strong side characters interesting—Tawny and Bev—who take care of the guys and step up when things become urgent, and the Brazilian bull riders add some excitement to an entertaining novel.
