We’re so pleased to have author Christine d’Abo dropping in today on the tour for her latest release, Losing It, the fourth installment in the Ringside Romance ~verse from Riptide Publishing. Christine’s here to chat with us about heroes of the unlikely variety, and there’s also a giveaway, so be sure to check out those details below.
Welcome, Christine!
Unlikely Heroes
Hello, my name is Christine d’Abo and I’m a romance author of both het and LGBTQ stories. Thank you so much for having me here today, and giving me an opportunity to talk about my upcoming M/M romance novel, LOSING IT.
I’m a sucker for unlikely heroes. The more unconventional they are, the more I’m likely to be cheering them on. When I decided I wanted to tell Justin’s story, I knew I wanted to give him a slightly different journey.
Cyrano de Bergerac tells the story of a brilliant man, who can’t seem to get anyone to fall in love with him, due to the unusual size of his nose. His words are his power, but women in his world tend to be unable to see Cyrano for who he truly is. I thought it would be fun to draw parallels between Cyrano and Justin in LOSING IT. While Justin’s looks are just fine, it’s his standoffish personality that makes it difficult for most men to look beyond.
Finn needs Justin to help him woo Leo, the man he’s been lusting after at the gym. But, the more time Finn spends with Justin, he begins to realize that beyond the prickly exterior, is a man with a large heart and the capacity to give him the love he wants.
Now, he only has to convince Justin of that.
About the Book
Finn Miller doesn’t do social. He works his IT job from home as often as he can to avoid people. If it weren’t for his weekly training sessions at Ringside Gym, he might never leave his apartment. And he only does that because of Leo, the gym member he’s in love with. When Finn gets talked into attending a speed dating fund-raiser at the gym, his greatest wish is to have the courage to try to say something—anything—to Leo.
Justin McCormick has spent most of his adult life being used, whether playing a corporate heavy, or acting as guard dog for his ward. So when he leaves Vancouver for a fresh start in Toronto, he doesn’t quite know what to do with himself.
The moment Justin sees Finn at a speed dating event, he knows there’s no way he’ll make it without a little help, so he offers to coach Finn on the art of conversation. What he doesn’t count on is his unexpected attraction to this shy boxer, or his fear that if Finn gets his way, Justin might lose out on his best chance at love.

Congrats, Christine, and thanks for the post. What a nice finale to this series, where “the most unlikely of heroes can find his HEA.” I love the sound of that, as well as the premise of the whole series. – Purple Reader,

Congrats on the release. Reading the premise I sort of like that there’s that escape route where its not a built in A to B this character must but with this other character but that there’s also an A to H route (if I’m making any sense – options). Kapony2 (at) aol (dot) com [Kapony2@aol.com]
This sounds so good! Congratulations and much success!
