Blurb: Confronting the past is never easy.
Cole Whitaker is happy. He has the job and boyfriend he always wanted. His heart’s in no danger of being broken, and he can’t ask for more from life. As a kindergarten teacher, he sees it all; however, one troublesome student has him reaching out to the parent, wanting to help. There’s something about Savanah that tugs at his heartstrings.
He never expected her father.
Zander Brooks hasn’t had an easy life, and he’s made some mistakes. Freshly retired from the military and working as a firefighter, Zander thought he’d left Cole in the rearview mirror. He’s not expecting him to appear in St. Petersburg, Florida, of all places, teaching his daughter’s kindergarten class. Suddenly, his biggest mistake is being shoved in his face.
This is Zander’s chance to close a door he’d never fully shut, but time with his former flame might change his mind.
The Excerpt
Zander caught him in a kiss on the way up, and they tilted onto the bed like that, Zander sprawling over him and their knees dangling over the edge. He could feel Zander writhing around trying to kick his pants and briefs off. Cole giggled against Zander’s lips, trying to wiggle further up the bed and take Zander with him. “Come on, come on,” he said, his hands on Zander’s back. He reached down and slapped his ass. His glorious, muscled ass. Zander’s backside was so fucking hard, Cole’s palm stung. “What do you do eighty-million squats a day?”
Zander broke the kiss to stare at him with a raised brow. “Really? That’s what you’re going to ask me right now?”
Cole’s brain wasn’t exactly firing on all cylinders. “You were so lean before.” He ran his hands along Zander’s sides, prodding. “You had the tiniest bit of fat here. I used to bite it, and you’d laugh.”
Zander’s eyes went molten. “I’m ticklish, of course I laughed.” He grazed his nose over Cole’s cheekbone, then repeated the motion with his lips. “You have freckles now. All over your cheeks and the bridge of your nose. I think they’re beautiful.”
Cole squirmed, still fully clothed. “I see the sun here.”
“It suits you.” He sat up, straddling Cole’s hips. “Let’s get this off you.” He had the hem of Cole’s shirt in his hands, and he lifted. Cole arched for him, letting Zander work the shirt up to his shoulders and then he had to sit forward so Zander could remove it entirely. It ended up on the floor somewhere.
With a hand in the center of Cole’s chest, Zander pushed him onto his back once more. Zander shimmied lower on the bed, attention turning to Cole’s jeans.
He made quick work, taking Cole’s briefs with them, and Cole was acutely aware of his nakedness compared to Zander’s. He was happy with his body normally, but he wasn’t a sculpted Adonis. It was a little, okay a lot, overwhelming. Cole could feel the heat on his chest, neck, and face which spoke of a spreading full-body flush.
The longer Zander spent staring at him, the more Cole trembled with anticipation. His cock was leaking without any contact, not even the jeans to act as friction anymore.
“Zander,” said Cole, begging. “Touch me.”
