Blurb: Cain Slays Abel!
In this day and age, that’s not an earth-shattering headline. We want headlines that scream of life-altering events.
Terrorists Nuke Peace Conference!
Wow! What a gripping headline. This is something to change the world. Oh, wait! The world did transform. This ran as the lead story a few hours before the beginning of The Upheaval. The current world birthed in nuclear fire and electromagnetic disruption. Gone are the nations I grew up with. My life altered again.
Cain Slays Abel!
The truth behind such a classic story is far more complicated than anyone could imagine.
The brothers’ tale is a life-altering event, at least for me. Twice a report of murder transformed my life in an unpredictable way. I am Richard St. Martin, Master of Darkness. Before my story can be told, you need to learn the story of the first dark monster, Cain. My stepchildren call him Father Cain because he was the first. To find the actuality behind the myth, I recruited two talented mortals – Dr. Jeremiah Banks, Archaeologist, and Professor Juan Di Vargas, Theologian and Religious Scholar. Together they found the secret origin of the vampires:

The Excerpt
In bloodlust did you strike down your brother Cain.
For your sin, you are cursed in the cities and cursed in the countryside.
Cursed shall be your offspring.
The hardness of your heart shall pass to them,
And your curse will be on them.
You curse me O, Lord to wander in bloodlust and sin.
My destruction of Cain brought glory and victory to your Holy Name.
For my bravery, I am rewarded with the hatred of all mankind.
Your curse ensures every hand will be raised against me.
From the safety of the peacemakers banner you struck down your brother.
His blood cries out from the earth you polluted with your sin.
And Abel replied, “Cursed are the peacemakers, for they strike bargains born in the bloodshed of stronger men. They will know derision and fear all the days of their lives. Blessed are they who take the name of the Lord in vain, for they experienced His evil ways.”
For in bloodlust you did sin, to bloodlust I condemn you to walk to the end of days. Into the darkness and out of my light do I curse you. Let he who strikes you down suffer your fate seven times greater than you.
For his crimes Cain, my brother, was slain.
The twister of shapes and master of beasts is no more.
His warm salty blood fueled my sin and the lifeblood of all the warm blooded will sustain me.
On my coward of a brother, Seth do I lay this curse and warning.
The best of your children shall become my children.
The lifeblood of your children, will sustain my children down to the thirteenth generation of my children.
Book of Abel 20:1-23/Gospel of Cain 3:23-45
In fear of Abel the Peacemaker’s efforts, Yahweh of the Mist tricked the son of Adam into sin.
“Go to your brother, Cain the Despised under the banner of peace;
And say to him, the Lord will forgive the sins you have committed.
When he asks the price of this forgiveness, say to him;
The Lord requires you to bring him the head and wings of the traitor Lucifer.”
Abel replied, “You send me on a fool’s errand, O Lord.
Cain the Twister, sold his soul to the darkness long before he sided with Lucifer the Adversary.
With the mortals led astray from the light do I bargain.
For Cain and the Adversary, redemption is beyond even your power to grant.
To the deepest pits of Sheol, they should be condemned.”
“I am, and I choose to offer redemption to those led astray by those who revolt against me.
Heed Me, son of Adam and speak beneath the Silver Banner of Peace.”
“Out of the respect to my father’s love of you, shall I carry out this task.”
Abel departed from the shrine of the Lord and sought out the blessing from his brother, Seth.
The Lord hardened Seth’s heart against peace with his brother, Cain.
Seth said to Abel, “The mission is the opportunity we need to finish this battle and restore the glory of the Lord. Take this blade forged from Silver magic and strike down Cain.”
Abel replied, “You want me to break the scared trust attached to the Silver Banner of Peace?”
“March out and meet with our brother, Cain, under the White Banner of Truce. Weapons are permitted and our brother never travels without one or more of his twisted beasts.”
“In the event this fails, vengeance for my death falls on you to deliver to our brother.”
“By our father’s love of the Lord, I swear to avenge Abel.”
Gospel of Cain 3:1-22
About the Author
Kethric Wilcox began writing and publishing as a personal challenge to be creative in a new medium. He was attracted to the LGBT Romance genre after reading several paranormal romances where it seemed like the shape-shifters never faced dangers outside the relationship issues thrown at them by their authors. Thus was born the shifter hunting House of Beauty on the premise of a twisted fairy tale. What if Beauty and the Beast didn’t end with happily ever after? Wilcox’s Legend of the Silver Hunter trilogy looks at this question and then asks what happens if a member of this family falls in love with a descendant of the Beast, can they find happily ever after or are they doomed to repeat the tale. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Wilcox now lives and works in Little Rock, Arkansas in a house that he and his partner renovated. By day Wilcox is a graphic artist and exhibit designer, and at night an author of paranormal romances.
Wilcox currently has two new trilogies in progress: Origin of the Vampires (The Curse, Lord Hunter, and Lord Slayer) set in a dystopian future of the Silver Hunter world; and Legacy of the Silver Hunter (The Goldilocks Pledge, Ruby Wine, and Black Snow) which continues the story told in the Legend trilogy from the view points of other couples in Kieran and Cory’s lives.
