Title: Yuma Prison
Author: Dale Chase
Publisher: JMS Books
Length: 62 Pages
Category: Historical, Western
At a Glance: Dale Chase once again brings another historical erotic western to life. The story is a well written, quick read, with lots of emotion—love, guilt, jealousy, drama, harassment and choices that have to made. The characters are solid, and I found myself liking Wynn, Jack and Lane.

Blurb: When young Wynn Dyer is released from Yuma Prison after a six-year sentence, he’s forced to sell himself for money as a matter of survival. Town marshal Jack Halligan becomes one of his customers, falling for Wynn and helping him land a cowhand job on a local ranch.
Then Wynn takes up with another cowhand named Lane. This not only complicates Wynn’s situation, as he still believes he loves Jack, but leads to problems for the marshal.
Inexperienced in matters of the heart, Wynn tries to hold onto both men but risks losing them both. Can this young cowboy find his way in romance and in life?
Review: Yuma Prison is a hell hole, and it ruins men in so many ways. Wynn Dyer entered Yuma at the age of seventeen, and after a hard lesson learned, was released at twenty-three. He winds up in the town of Yuma with only five dollars in his pocket, but knows that won’t last long. His social skills are lacking, and he’s desperate for a job. At the Acme Saloon he takes a job that he hates, but being an ex-con doesn’t give him many choices. Wynn is determined to not make this a permanent job, but one thing he knows is permanent is that he’s free.
Marshal Jack Halligan has had his eye on Wynn, and he has Wynn thinking his new profession might get him arrested, but Jack has different ideas, and Wynn finds that Jack is different than most of the men he has to service. Wynn and Jack make a connection and after a long love affair, Wynn expresses that he needs a better life, so Jack helps him get a decent job as a ranch hand.
Even though the ranch job keeps Wynn and Jack apart, they still have feelings for each other. But with the distance between them, Wynn finds himself becoming friends with Lane, another ranch hand, but then it starts to become more than a friendship. Wynn is torn between Jack and Lane. Emotions run rampant and decisions are hard to make.
Dale Chase once again brings another historical erotic western to life. The story is a well written, quick read, with lots of emotion—love, guilt, jealousy, drama, harassment and choices that have to made. The characters are solid, and I found myself liking Wynn, Jack and Lane. Of course, there’s always the bad guy who wants to create havoc and cause even more turmoil. The end decision after all the high drama was a surprise for me, but you just never know how the men of the Old West think.
