Blurb: Detective Andreas Ruffner is no fool – he’s found a man who loves him, puts up with him, and has stuck with him through hell and back, and it’s time to put a ring on it. Darren Corliss is the love of his life, and he wants the whole world to know it.
Now the fun part – the wedding!
Well, after the not-so-fun part of planning the wedding in between dealing with overbearing and impossible-to-please family members. With future mothers-in-law driving them both up a wall, the guest list growing out of control, and the wedding getting ever more complicated, Darren and Andreas have to wonder if they’re in over their heads.
But they’re going to make it to the altar if it kills them…and at this rate, it just might.
Review: Weddings are fun, aren’t they? Though, not always the planning part, am I right? Ha! At least that is what Detectives Andreas Ruffner and Darren Corliss are about to find out in Romantic Behavior, the fourth and final book in LA Witt and Cari Z’s Bad Behavior series. It has been a sometimes rocky and certainly whirlwind romance for Darren and Andreas, and I’ve been along on the entire ride in audio format with narrator Michael Ferraiuolo. 😊 Ferraiuolo’s performance throughout the series has been fantastic, right down to these last three hours.
Once poor Andreas gets through the proposal—which was a pretty funny moment—he and Darren begin the task of sharing the news with their loved ones, starting with Darren’s mom and stepdad. Darren has it in his head that they don’t need a big ceremony, they can just do a small thing at the courthouse, and that his mom won’t care. But, when he picks up the phone to call his mom and tell her as much, Andreas basically tells him ‘Yeah, good luck with that,’ and waits for the fallout. I got a kick out of the beginning of the story, and Darren groaning about every little detail of the wedding and dealing with the wedding planner his mother insisted they hire. His mom is just so excited, though, so the guys want to make her happy.
On the flip side of the coin is Andreas’ mom. Plainly stated, she is a nasty piece of work. Not only does she seem less-than-thrilled with the news when Andreas delivers it, but she commences to be a pain in the ass at every step in the process. She was a capital B Bitch. Luckily for Andreas, though, Darren doesn’t go running for the hills, and mostly takes it in stride. Until he doesn’t. Which was the most glorious moment in the book.
I’ll let you guys read or listen to see for yourselves how everything actually goes down, but, as the blurb suggests, the guys are determined to make it to the altar, come hell or high water or nasty family members. After all, after everything they’ve been through over the last three books, they deserve a little bit of happiness, damnit! So, go give this one a listen. I’ve definitely enjoyed this series and wonderful narration by Ferraiuolo!
