Why the Knights Club

The Knights Club came from my desire to continue the story behind the Gentleman’s Club in the Warfield Hotel Mysteries series. I thought it would be interesting to see how the men and women who worked in the club and came from such diverse backgrounds could come together as a sort of family. Each having their own secrets and needs, and yet, wanting to have someone they could depend on when family or life had let them down.

There are several characters in this series and you’ll meet most of them in Xavier and Seb’s story “Starting Over”. People like: Rio the sexy brooding Hispanic bartender who has family troubles. Calypso, a tall gorgeous black man who loves his 4 inch high heels and dressing in bright colors. A touch fem but all man. Then there’s Phillip, the club manager who isn’t sure if he’s straight, gay, or bi. Oh, let’s not forget Tiny, the bear of a man who has a tender heart and guards the door and the employees of the club. And last but definitely not least, Pixie. She’s a single mom who works hard to support her son, but she’s got a deadbeat ex who just can’t seem to take no for an answer.

Outside the club you have the Brady family. Police officers Zach and Malachi, Seb’s brother, along with their baby sister Katelyn. There are more characters who will round out the Knights Club family.

Each of the planned five books in this series in centered on two of the characters. There’s a little mystery (after all it’s me writing and you all know how I love a mystery), a little romance, definitely an HEA and some hot steamy sexy times. The stories are novella size. Quick and easy to read. You’ll see them released about four to six weeks apart, so you won’t have to wait too long to get the next story.

About the Author

C.J. Baty lives in southwest Ohio. Her heart, however, lives in the mountains of Tennessee where she hopes to retire some day. The mountains have always provided her with inspiration and a soothing balm to the stresses of everyday life.

The dream of writing her own stories started in high school but was left on the back burner of life until her son introduced her to fan fiction and encouraged her to give it a try. She found that her passion for telling a story was still there and writing them down to share with others was much more thrilling than she had ever expected.

She has a loving and supportive family who don’t mind fixing their own meals when she is in the middle of a story, and a network of friends who have encouraged and cheered her on in her quest of being an author.

One thing she has learned from life and she is often heard to say is: “You are never too old to follow your dream!”
