Review: Saint Harlowe went where few authors dare to tread. Rapture, in a mere ninety-seven pages, delivers a story that is riveting, disturbing, daring, seductive, dark, and utterly sublime. This story blasphemes without apology, compels without mercy, and seduces without remorse. It is not labelled Horror, but there is no doubt that there are horrific scenes of lust within. “This book contains sensitive material” is close to an understatement. And it’s one of the finest novellas I’ve ever relished.
For months, he has been stalked by a psychopath, spied on, his routines memorized. His deepest, darkest confessions overheard by more than just his priest. Adrian’s sense of security is cannibalized by a man obsessed, possessed by the need to have Adrian near, to control him, and to seek judgement or clemency from him. Which Jackson Monroe will receive is what drives the suspense in the story. How interdependent they are on each other becomes a power play and ultimately defines the dynamics that influence their addiction to each other.
