We’re so pleased to have author Silvia Violet joining us today on the tour for her latest release from Riptide Publishing, Lace-Covered Compromise. We’ve got a great foodie post to share with you, and there’s also a giveaway, so be sure to check out those details below.
Welcome, Silvia!
If you spend any time at all with me, you’ll quickly learn that I love food. I love to eat it, of course, but also to cook and bake. I have a large cookbook collection and spend more time than I should reading cooking blogs. So naturally, when I write, I think a lot about what my characters enjoy eating and usually end up with a few scenes that revolve around food.
Today I want to share some of Adam and Nate’s favorite foods. Some of these show up in Lace-Covered Compromise, and the rest are things I’m sure they’ll enjoy together in the future.
As you’ll see from his list, Adam has a strong need for comfort foods and foods that make him remember good times in his life.
Adam’s Favorite Foods
1) Chicago-style hot dogs (particularly those bought from a street cart)
2) gooey fresh-out of the oven chocolate chip cookies
3) Chicago deep dish pizza with all the meats
4) a perfect piece of sourdough toast dripping with butter
5) biscuits and gravy (just like his Southern nanny used to make for him)
Nate enjoys adventure. He likes to try new cuisines and doesn’t mind if something is blow-your-head-off spicy or OMG-there’s-an-eyeball-in-there. But he also doesn’t mind the occasional comforting childhood treat.
Nate’s Favorite Foods
1) chicken vindaloo (a spicy Indian curry)
2) pho (a Vietnamese soup)
3) a platter of Ethiopian meat and vegetable dishes with plenty of injera to scoop it all up
4) seafood tacos
5) ice cream, preferably in a sugar cone just like he had as a kid
I’d love to hear about some of your favorite foods, and I encourage you to find some delicious to enjoy while you read Lace-Covered Compormise.
About the Book
Adam Kingston expects to inherit his father’s multinational conglomerate. When he finds out half of it went to Nate Thomas—an annoying man whose dreams for Kingston Corp.’s future clash with Adam’s need to stave off financial disaster—Adam is furious. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to wrest control of Kingston Corp. from Nate.
Nate may be soft-spoken, but he refuses to be swayed by Adam’s arrogant demands. When Nate accidentally drops a pair of his lacy panties in front of Adam, there’s no mistaking Adam’s interest. Nate hadn’t realized Adam was bisexual, but now that his secret is out, Nate is willing to use Adam’s lust against him if it means protecting the welfare of the company he loves.
For Adam and Nate, hatred and desire are closely linked. Their inability to compromise threatens the company and could expose their tightly held secrets. But as they work together to develop a plan to save Kingston Corp., they begin to realize there might be more to their relationship than anger and lust.

About the Author
Silvia Violet writes fun, sexy stories that will leave you smiling and satisfied. She has a thing for characters who are in need of comfort and enjoys helping them surrender to love even when they doubt it exists. Silvia’s stories include sizzling contemporaries, paranormals, and historicals. She can be found haunting coffee shops looking for the darkest, strongest cup of coffee she can find. Once equipped with the needed fuel, she can happily sit for hours pounding away at her laptop.
Silvia typically leaves home disguised as a suburban stay-at-home-mom, and other coffee shop patrons tend to ask her hilarious questions like, “Do you write children’s books?” She loves watching the looks on their faces when they learn what she’s actually up to. When she needs a break from listening to the voices in her head, she spends time baking, taking long walks, curling up with her favorite books, and spending time with her family.

Thank you! I love making foodie scenes a part of my books!
I think I’m more with Adam than with Nate when it comes to food… I love ginger and chocolate biscuits, Spanish tortilla, veggie moussaka and pasta in any fashion you may present it. LOL

You’re welcome!
Opposites attract…and expand each others’ horizons.
Popcorn, rosettes (Scandinavian pastries), beignets (preferably from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans), sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, fajitas with guacamole and Mississippi Mud cake…preferably after its sat in a hot car, the chocolate is blended together and you’re eating it under a tree!
I hope the release if fantastic.

I love Cafe du Monde! I used to live in Baton Rouge and sometimes I’d drive to New Orleans just to sit under their tent and eat beignets :)
It’s funny, since everyone goes on about Chicago pizza, that it was the worst pizza I’ve ever had the one time that I tried it.

You’ve got to really, really love cheese for it to be a favorite.
I love trying new foods although spicy foods don’t work so well for me these days. I’m also a cookbook junkie along with my mom. I just received one as part of a swag pack today that’s from the UK so I’m excited to be adding that to my collection. We have one we most likely won’t ever be able to use since it’s written in arabic but I thought it was a great souvenir to bring back for my mom from Saudi Arabia.

That does sound like an awesome souvenir! I’ve thought about making a cookbook of recipes in some of my books as swag.
congrats on the new release

Thanks!
Thanks for hosting me, Lisa.
Oh, so many foods, can’t even narrow them down! Now that it’s getting colder, I want cabbage rolls, bibimbap, chile verde, and baked chocolate pudding (not all at once…probably).

I love any kind of pizza, always delicious no matter what.

Congrats, Silvia, and thanks for the fav foods. I’m more like Adam, but still like to try new things (but not as crazy as Nate). I do love just about anything French, such a flavorful cuisine. – Purple Reader,

Mmm love Peruvian foods and seafood gumbo or greek food and eggplant. All the mentions of foodie heaven ^_^ I’m down with that. I’m kinda puzzled how it was arrived at the conclusion that panties were his and not a keepsake but I guess I’ll have to read the book to see how it got to that point.

The book sounds wonderful Silvia. Can’t wait to read this one!
