Welcome to the Exclusive Cover Reveal of Rhys Ford’s Sin and Tonic, the sixth and final book in the Sinners series!
We’re so pleased to have the opportunity to share the cover with you as well as the fantastic giveaway which you can check out the details for and enter below.
On Christmas Eve in 2012, Dreamspinner Press published a book of mine called Sinner’s Gin.
I wrote Sinner’s Gin off and on for years before. The original story looks nothing like the end product. There were changes as the characters grew organically in my head and the situations shifted, circumstances and locales moving about until I felt like I hit the right combination of personalities and storyline.
What never changed was the opening.
You see, I’d written that first. I knew at the very beginning of Miki St. John’s creation that I was going to rip away everything he held dear and replace it with an emptiness so vast it would echo his heartbeats back to him.
Because I had every intention of building him a new world.
I’ve been asked if I believe Miki is my most broken character. Honestly, no. I actually don’t see him as broken. I don’t see any of them as broken. And that could just be my perspective is probably a bit… darker than most, but Miki is a very familiar, comfortable ground for me to write on. He’s prickly and suspicious but yearns for things, for emotions, for love even.
I needed to pair him with someone who wasn’t just strong but someone who was resilient and willing to take the barbs and bites he’d get along the way. Kane Morgan became that balance, that stubborn piece of granite Miki couldn’t budge.
But at the same time, Kane had to grow as well.
Because he had to see Miki didn’t need fixing. Didn’t need to be sheltered. Didn’t need to be coddled. Miki wasn’t looking for someone to save him. He had that in Damien, a brother who’d pulled him out of the darkness and into the light—even if it was just for a brief moment.
What Miki needed was someone to love him as he was. And as what he could be.
Kane could do that. Kane did do that. And along the way, he not only fell in love with Miki but also taught him how to love in return—including being accepted into a sprawling, bossy, intrusive Irish family full of cops, laughter and tolerance.
And now here we are…at the end of the series and I’ve brought Miki back full circle to where he was before I first imagined his life. Their path hasn’t been an easy one. I’ve put Miki and Kane through a lot of emotional upheaval, but I knew they’d never waver. The point of this journey wasn’t to tear them apart and stitch them back together. It was to show two men with very different experiences and perspectives learn what each other needed as their love deepened.
There was never any question Miki St. John would get his happily-ever-after.
It was just a matter of when and how.
And that leads us to Sin and Tonic.
On May 15, 2018, I am happy to bring the conclusion of Miki’s story, the final few steps of his road towards happiness and the loves he’s found along the way. It is a return to the fire escape in Chinatown, the warehouse he shares with Kane and also to the affection he has for the dog who’d moved into his home and never left.
Thank you all for being with me on this journey. Your support and enthusiasm means so much to me and I hope you enjoy the final book in Miki’s story.
May you always have…
Walls for the winds
A roof for the rain
Whiskey beside the fire
Laughter to cheer you
Those you love near you
And all your heart might desire.
Sin and Tonic by Rhys Ford
Published by Dreamspinner Press • Release Date: May 15, 2018
Miki St. John believed happy endings only existed in fairy tales until his life took a few unexpected turns… and now he’s found his own.
His best friend, Damien, is back from the dead, and their new band, Crossroads Gin, is soaring up the charts. Miki’s got a solid, loving partner named Kane Morgan—an Inspector with SFPD whose enormous Irish family has embraced him as one of their own—and his dog, Dude, at his side.
It’s a pity someone’s trying to kill him.
Old loyalties and even older grudges emerge from Chinatown’s murky, mysterious past, and Miki struggles to deal with his dead mother’s abandonment, her secrets, and her brutal murder while he’s hunted by an enigmatic killer who may have ties to her.
The case lands in Kane’s lap, and he and Miki are caught in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse. When Miki is forced to face his personal demons and the horrors of his childhood, only one thing is certain: the rock star and his cop are determined to fight for their future and survive the evils lurking in Miki’s past.

I love your books, Rhys. Every single one of them I’ve read, I keep falling in love with your characters. So every new good is great news for me, even if it is the last one in a series I love!!!
I loved this series. You have a way of making your characters part of the family and I’m going to miss Mikki. Thank you for the wonderful stories.
This cover is AMAZING!! Also love the picture of the fire escape!!
One of my all time favorite series💖💖💖 As much as I hate to see it end, I can’t wait to see how it ends. Thanks, Rhys, for some amazing characters.
This will be a bittersweet ending for me – I love the Sinner’s series so much – but thankfully I can read them over and over again. Thank you Rhys for telling this fantastic story.
I can’t wait to read this book! This is one of my favorite series. I look forward to reading them all again.
I enjoy ask all of your books, even when series ends. :) it’s a great cover and can’t wait to read the book.
I absolutely love the cover and do really think six is enough.😘
There are no words for how much I love this series and these characters! I will miss them! Thanks Rhys for creating such an amazing family of characters! Lots of laughs and tears with them! I love the cover..its perfect for the last book in the series. May 15 can’t get here soon enough!
Rhys that cover is FANTASTIC!! You’ve captured both Micki’s strength (backbone of solid steel) and his soft heart. Now I just have to figure out how to be patient for the actual book.
Just love sinners gin series, can’t wait for this one . Mini ❤
Can’t wait! I’ll start rereading Sinner’s Gin soon, so I can finish in time! :-)
It’s going to feel like a hundred years until May! Sinner’s Gin was the first book of yours I ever read (murder, classic cars and it being either free or discounted when I found it caught my eye). I went from taking a chance on a random book, to being VERY careful to make sure I knew where all my Rhys Ford books were packed when we moved. ( which was a clearly labeled box in my van, NOT with the movers! ). I am sad to see the series end, but just as excited to find out what happens. And I like the cover, too. Bonus!
Gorgeous cover! I can’t wait to read this book!
Love the new cover and it will be sad to read the end of the series.
Love the cover. Sure will miss not having anything new for the series except shorts, but I’ll still happily read those as well!
It has been one hell of a journey to Sin and Tonic. Thanks for the ride 😁😁
I cannot wait for this book and the cover is absolutely GORGEOUS!
Thank you for introducing such brilliantly flawed and so very human characters. Bittersweet is the right word for the series ending. The cover is brilliant but I expected nothing less. I have devoured everything you’ve written, slipping into their worlds so easily. Always regretting having to leave but so much the better for it. Looking forward to whatever spills out of your pen next!
Nice shirt, Miki lol!
I can’t wait to read this! But am sad another great series is ending. Gorgeous cover.
A gorgeous cover! I’m going to be sad to see the ending of Miki and crowd but I’m really happy this final book revolves around Miki. It’s coming full circle, yes?
About a week or so ago, I read through the entire series so far. It was a wild ride full of mystery and love and I can’t wait to visit with Miki, Kane and the rest of their family again. 💜
can’t believe this ending. But all good things end at some point. This is one of my favorite series, a re-read I will enjoy when I need someone Sinners in my life.
Love the cover :) Can’t wait to read this, while at the same time mourning that it’s coming to an end.
I love the cover! I’m so excited for the book but I’m also really sad the series is ending!
That cover is all that and more! Miki is my favorite and that is just love.
Looking forward to the conclusion of some of my favorite characters, but sad it’s ending too. Just glad we now have our 415 Ink guys’ adventures to look forward to.
marking this down, looking forward to reading it (love miki’s tshirt on the cover) :)
Though I’m sad to see the end of the Sinners series, I’m happy that Miki will get the “riding off in to the sunset” happy ending he so richly deserves 🤗
Fantastic cover! Looking forward to reading this, but sad to see it’s the end! <3
Great cover. Can’t wait to read but will be sad to see the end of the series.
I’m so excited for this one. Thanks so much! I love your books!!
OMG, I cannot wait for this book, but then again I don’t want to see the end of the series. Miki is how I found and fell in love with Rhys and I’m going to miss falling into every new world. Good thing I’m a big believer in re-reading.
Whoa. Final book. Sounds so …final. Hehe
Lovely cover as always, Rhys. Can’t wait for the book’s release!
I’m REALLY looking forward to this book! Love the cover and this series is just amazing. I need to give the series a re-read, I think!!
This series is on my wish list.
I love Miki and the Sinners Gin world. I’m looking forward to Sin and Tonic with both excitement and sorrow. Excitement to see Miki and Kane (and everyone else) again. Sorrow because it’s the last one. Thanks for such great stories
Sinners Gin are my favorites! Can’t wait!
Can’t wait for the final book in the series, even if I will miss the Morgans and the band. Gorgeous cover.
Can’t wait for MIki’s HEA!
I can hardly wait!!!!
I have been waiting for this book for soo long, and at the same time I will miss these boys when it’s finally over. But then again they do deserve their HEA and I can’t wait to share it with them.
I love your books! I am going to miss Miki and Kane just as much as Cole and Jae. Always look forward to new series from you cuz you do not disappoint.
I love how Miki and Kane started the series and now come full circle to finish it as well. The shirt Miki is wearing- love the nod the brothers. Holy Shitballs! I can’t wait for this book!
I love Miki, Kane, every Morgan/Finnigan there is, the band, but…dude! If it wasn’t for Dude, there’d be no story.
I can’t wait to read it! I stopped myself from reading Absinthe of Malice so I could enjoy the full ride (and avoid a possible cliffhanger and pulling my hair out waiting for Sin and Tonic XD) Gorgeous cover too!!! Sad to know their stories are ending but ready to read their HEA.
I’m putting in for vacation days now. It’ll be a Sinners weekend re-read for me so I can be ready. I’m excited!
Gosh, it’s been probably 5 or six years, but I think Sinner’s Gin was the first book of you’re I’d ever read. From there I devoured your whole catalog, which honestly wasn’t very big at the time. I’m kind of heartbroken that this one is over. This is the end. But I felt like that with Cole and Jae, too. I still feel like that, so, I guess…good job.
I have all these on my TBR – now seems the perfect time to read the whole lot in one go! HEA, no waiting 😜
I can’t wait for release day!!
Yey!! The last book now I can start the series and not stop till I finish them all!!!
This series is awesome! Looking forwad ro reading more. Though I’m sad it’s the last book in the series
The cover looks awesome, love that he is wearing a 415 Ink t-shirt! I now have May 15th marked on the calendar, let the countdown begin. Sad to see the series end, but the great things about books is that you can visit again anytime you want.
Oh, the love for Miki. He isn’t broken. He’s irascible, he’s cynical, and he will forever be in my heart. It sounds like we may be getting his back story (and maybe the history of the tattoo?), and he finally gets to settle in to his new reality, full of love and finally embracing the happiness that is his for the taking. The cover is glorious, hinting at the mysteries hidden within, shadows and smoke. Miki will be remembered forever with love, even as we mourn his final farewell. Thank you for gifting us with yet another amazing series!
I can’t wait Miki’s story was the first of yours that I’d read and I fell in love with from the first glimpse. So to be there for his conclusion is something I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait.
Cannot wait for this, love Miki 😍😍
I love the cover of this book, it looks amazing.
I sound like a broken record, but Sinner’s Gin was the first book of yours I read/listened to. After that, I bought everything I could get my grabby hands on. But the Sinners gang, like all first loves, will be my favorite series. The cover art is breathtaking, and I love the 415 Ink t-shirt Miki is wearing (is this in your store?). I binge read the sinners series recently, so I’m caught up, but I might read Absinthe of Malice again before Sin and Tonic’s release. I especially appreciate how crappy Miki’s life has been, and even when he’s mired in grief, you don’t present him as broken. Yes, he’s gotten the stuffing kicked out of him, but he’s getting up every single day, fighting off Damien’s greedy parents, because if he didn’t do it, who would. It’s his strong commitment to the Damien and his fellow bandmates that kept him going. Even though this will be the end of the series arc, I’ll always be able to reread the Sinners saga, and can imagine Kane and Miki, and the Morgan/Finnegan living out their lives. Thank you Rhys for this amazing, gut wrenching, nail biting ride.
Hah, I like the title!! And that cover is mightily gorgeous…
I haven’t started this series yet, but it looks like now would be the perfect time!
Nice reveala nd contest, looks awesome!
I love the cover and am so happy Miki and Kane get their HEA….love them all
Love the cover! It makes me a bit sad to see them go. But, I know it will be quite the send off and I can’t wait! ❤️❤️❤️
So very excited! But endings are hard…So I’ll revel in the excitement for now.
Sounds awesome – can’t wait. (except for the fact that another awesome series comes to an end),
I can’t wait for the final book, though it will be sad there are no more!
I. Cannot. Wait.!!
So sad it’s the end, but so excited for a new Sinners book! Can’t wait!
It is bittersweet. I love Miki but I can’t believe this is the end. Ah, there is always rereading.
Thanks my favorite series .I love Miki and Kane and the rest of the boys . I love Donnel, I seriously didn’t want this series to end. I’m both sad and elated that there is another story. Can’t wait, to read it…
Thank you for updating this series. I can’t wait to read it, and listen to it once it’s on Audible. I love these so much that I buy the ebooks, paperbacks, and the Audible books so I can experience them in any setting (even reading the book while listening to the Audible). I’m sad that there won’t be any more new stories in the series, but do know that I can always re-read or listen to them.
I love the cover and he is rocking a 415 ink shirt so cool. I love this series and am excited for this book, but sad to see it end.
Congrats on another great cover, Rhys. You finally named one after the drink I have in bars, lol. Nice couple and journey.
It looks fantastic. Looking forward to giving it a read! Sad to see it’s ending.
Can’t wait to read this :)
Oh that cover is gorgeous…. sad to see it end but I can’t wait to read the book!
I can’t wait for it’s release because I will FINALLY be able to read all 6 ebooks (plus the 2 in between ebooks) altogether, I’ve been waiting patiently since Sloe Ride was released. I’ve been slowly buying them from Dreamspinner because I got sucked into Rhys’ books from the Hellsinger books first then Cole McGinnis books, though I learnt from Cole’s books to wait for the final one before reading them series because it was a killer to wait after i had binged read up to Down and Dirty and had to wait for the final book Dirt Heart, I said never again will I read the series knowing there’s a final book to be written, so I waited for Sin and Tonic patiently :D
I have two words for this, “finally” & “oh?”. Bittersweet feelings for this last installment. Thank you for giving us Miki & Kane. And of course, my Damien along with the others. <3
I LOVE the cover!! I’m happy and sad that Sinners will be done, they were my first Rhys Ford books. What a ride, I can’t wait to see where it goes!!
I’m saddened that this is the last book in a must-read series. However, I am very much looking forward to any and everything else that comes from the creative brain of Rhys Ford! Now, I’m off to re-read the entire series, yet again, because these books never get old!
Thank you for sharing this unique family with us, Rhys!
I love this series. I am sorry to see it end. Love the cover.
I love the cover

Sinner’s Gin was my second book I read of Rhys’ (Black Dog Blues being the first) and Miki is still one of my favorites so I’m happy to see he’s getting more story. Because it’s Miki and he’s one of my heroes. I love the cover. It’s perfect.
Love the cover and I can not wait for the book. Mimi is one of my favorites.
I can’t wait for this novel. Sinner’s Gin hooked me from the get go. I will be so sad to read this final installment, but happy for Miki and Kane. Cover is beautiful.
