We’re so pleased to welcome author TA Moore to TNA today to celebrate her brand new release, Every Other Weekend, from Dreamspinner Press. Tammy’s going to give us the lowdown on one of her MCs, Baker, and is also offering up a great giveaway, so be sure to check out all those details below.
Welcome, Tammy!
First of all, thank you so much for having me! I’m thrilled to be here with my stand-alone contemporary suspense Every Other Weekend. Every now and again an author (or at least THIS author) gets characters who drop fully formed and already opinionated into your brain. It happened with my Digging up Bones series, and again with Clayton and Kelly (and Baker, who was so much fun to write for that he has to get an honourable mention) in this book. Trust me, this was originally meant to be a much sillier book. There were hijinks planned, but Clayton almost immediately established he wasn’t into the ‘jinks.
Anyhow, I thought that since I loved these guys so much? You guys might like to learn a few important bits and pieces about them. And Baker, as I mention above, is one of my favourites!
Five Facts About Baker
1: His success as a lawyer is neither surprising, unexpected, nor unprecedented. He comes from a wealthy family of assholes, who always expected a lot from him and used their money to ensure that he had every advantage available to him. They actually think he’s a bit of a failure since he dropped out of the DA’s office and went to work in the private sector. Oh, and being gay didn’t impress them either since they are, as previously mentioned, assholes.
2: He likes nice things. His clothes are always fashionable, even if the more conservative members of the firm sometimes tch their tongues at his choices in colour and pattern. Baker’s aware that some people think it’s odd for a six foot three and a bit, rather muscular man to be fashion plate, but he is also aware that they can kiss his ass.
3: After he got mugged a couple of times when he moved to LA, he learned krav maga. This turned out to be useless since while he can perform adequately in the gym, in an actual fight he freezes. There’s rarely any time to get into the right mindset and, frankly, he doesn’t actually like hitting people. In the end he just stopped carrying a lot of cash in his wallet and handed it to muggers instead.
4: Baker isn’t an alcoholic, but he was raised by a charming, functional alcoholic and a binge drinking shouty drunk, so his learned coping mechanisms sometimes…aren’t the best. He drinks more than he probably should and when things go wrong beyond his capacity to fix them, he tends to reach for the bottle. It’s never interfered with his job or his ability to do it well, which sometimes makes him worry he’s more like his mother than he’d ever be comfortable with.
5: Baker is almost as cynical as Clayton about some things, but he admires Kelly’s optimistic view of love. Just because Baker has never had a successful romantic relationship doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want to believe in love. He doesn’t matchmake because it isn’t professional, but if he did it would be those two.

Blurb: Divorce lawyer Clayton Reynolds is a happy cynic who believes in hard work and one-night stands. He also believes that being an excellent lawyer means he never has to go home to the miserable trailer park where he grew up and that volunteering at a women’s shelter will buy off the conscience that occasionally plagues him. So when Nadine Graham comes in with a broken arm and a son she desperately wants to protect, Clayton can’t turn down their plea for help.
Taking the case means appealing to investigator “Just Call Me Kelly” for help. That wouldn’t be so bad if Kelly weren’t a hopeless romantic… and the hottest man Clayton’s ever met.
Kelly has always had a crush on the unobtainable Clayton Reynolds. He agrees to help, even though he has enough on his plate with the motherless baby his widowed brother left him to care for.
As Nadine’s case turns dangerous and the two seemingly opposite men are forced to work together, they discover they have a great deal in common—but solving the case and saving Nadine’s life might cost Kelly everything.

A childhood in a rural, seaside town fostered in her a suspicious nature, a love of mystery, and a streak of black humour a mile wide. As her grandmother always said, ‘she’d laugh at a bad thing that one’, mind you, that was the pot calling the kettle black. TA Moore studied History, Irish mythology, English at University, mostly because she has always loved a good story. She has worked as a journalist, a finance manager, and in the arts sectors before she finally gave in to a lifelong desire to write.
